New True Talent (NTT) is a non-profit Korean American production group based in Los Angeles. Our goal is to provide a supportive atmosphere for aspiring and professional actors and filmmakers. We strive to encourage artistic growth, experimentation, and professional experience, while keeping up standards of integrity. Ultimately, we aim to promote the presence and involvement of Korean Americans in the acting and film industries.
The concept behind NTT is one of active exposure. Korean Americans and other minorities often lack opportunities to work in the film industry. Instead of waiting for productions to be made with Asian American roles, we actively create our own, usually with the intention of festival submission, large venue screening, or broadcast. Roger Ebert once wrote, "If you want to make feature films there are no jobs and no openings except the ones you make yourself." This philosophy forms the basis of NTT.
In addition to increasing exposure, we also constantly work to improve ourselves as a group and raise the standards of our productions. We recognize the importance of good screenwriting, acting, and direction, among other aspects of production. However, we also emphasize balanced teamwork, humility, and mutual respect. We believe these characteristics make our work more rewarding and give our productions a higher level of quality.
